About Quinta do Vallado – A Historic Douro Winery

Mentioned in documents since 1716, Quinta do Vallado is one of the oldest and most prestigious Douro Valley wine estates, still owned and operated by the Ferreira family, one of the most influential names in Portuguese wine history.

Located near Peso da Régua, along both banks of the Corgo River, the estate spans over 100 hectares of vineyards, including 45 hectares of certified organic vineyards. Since the early 2000s, Quinta do Vallado has been strongly committed to organic and sustainable viticulture, progressively eliminating herbicides, pesticides, and other polluting agents to preserve biodiversity and ecological balance.

This deep respect for the land is reflected in the estate’s wines — from fresh, elegant Douro DOC wines to refined and age-worthy Port wines — now brought to Porto through Poente by Vallado, where the spirit of the Douro meets the city.
