Well worth it. Fortunately we went in September and had great weather. Many locals commented on the extreme heat during the summer months.

A Memorable Douro Valley Experience – Highly Recommend Cooltour Oporto We had a fantastic day on the Douro Valley Small Group Tour with Wine Tastings, Lunch, and River Cruise. Our guide, Miguel, was exceptionally knowledgeable and engaging, setting the tone for a well-paced and insightful experience. The first vineyard visit was truly a highlight — an intimate, family-run estate where we enjoyed one of the best tastings I've ever experienced. The wines were beautifully paired with delicious olive oils, fresh bread, and homemade jams. Pedro, our host at the vineyard, was not only informative but also thoroughly entertaining. The setting was stunning, with panoramic views that added to the magic of the moment. In the afternoon, we had an equally enjoyable Port tasting, again paired with a thoughtful and informative presentation that deepened our appreciation for the region's heritage. The river cruise offered a relaxing break with lovely scenery, though it’s more of a quiet visual experience — there’s little narration, and the route simply goes up and down the river to take in the views. Lunch was decent, and the restaurant made an effort to accommodate dietary requirements. While the food and location weren’t particularly memorable, it served its purpose as a pleasant midday stop but there may be better options. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this tour. The organization and communication from Cooltour Oporto were excellent from start to finish, and the experience offered a wonderful blend of culture, history, and natural beauty

A great day! Well organized by the company. And our guide, Andrea, was just wonderful. Both vineyards were interesting and terrific wines. The second vineyard, Quinta Santa Eufemia, was such a treat. Meeting some of the family working the harvest, the views, and the port. A special experience. Thank you!
